Health Reform for Large Employers Employee Communication LinksYou can send the following PDF and Web site link to your employees to educate them about dependent coverage changes: Health Reform: Plan UpdatesEmblemHealth, GHI, and HIP plansPlans are in effect until the current policy periods end, including the provision for extending (bridge) coverage of any currently insured dependents scheduled to age out of eligibility under their parent's plan after April 30, 2010. These dependents will experience no interruption of coverage. Groups will receive a renewal letter before their current plan period ends. At that time, they can modify their plan within health reform guidelines. If we do not hear from the group, we will automatically enroll them in their current plan that incorporates the health reform required changes. For GHI underwritten products only, if your group is affected, employees will receive a new ID card prior to the group renewal date. Members should be sure to use this card for services received on or after your group's renewal dates and discard their current ID card at that time. Details concerning Dependent Care Coverage enrollment, pertaining to the federal health reform law of age 26 and the New York State law referring to age 29, are available in our Dependent Coverage Extension FAQs. Contact your health benefits professional for more information. Effective September 23, 2010, federal health reform may require changes to your coverage, depending on your plan. |
