Health Reform Checklist for Brokers Under the federal health reform law, an estimated three million more New Yorkers will have improved access to health insurance. The law provides significant tax credits for small businesses. More small business prospects may be able to afford health insurance now. Notify your prospects and clients about the Small Business Tax Credit. Certain preventive services are provided with no cost-sharing. For women, additional preventive services may be available for plans that begin or renew on or after August 1, 2012. Communicate these benefits to your prospects. Dependents under age 26 may be insured under their parent's plan. Read important information regarding EmblemHealth, GHI and HIP plans. Effective September 23, 2010, federal health reform may require changes to your coverage, depending on your plan. |
